Description:
Dorsal spines: 11-13; Dorsal rays : 11-15; Anal spines: 2; Anal rays: 14 - 17.
Blennie with small simple cirrus on nostrils and none on eyes or nape.
Colour: Beige to grey in colour with a series of rows of white spots along the back and sides. Dusky stripes anteriorly including short stripe on pectoral
fin base. In Seychelles, the species has a distinctive pink patch on top of the head.
Size:
Maturity: Unknown. Max length: 6.5 cm TL.
Habitat and Ecology:
Inhabits coastal seaward reefs and outer reef walls (depth 1-20 m). Forms pairs during courtship and spawning. Planktivorous. Oviparous, eggs are demersal, attaching to the
substrate via a pedestal.
Fishery Status:
This species is not protected or subject to fishery regulations. It is not subject to the artisanal fishery.
